Zimac.AI · Local-first AI systems

AI your team runs on its own terms.

Zimac.AI builds three things that work as one: Zimac, an AI chief of staff for engineering managers on macOS; Mnema, a formally verified memory engine every agent on your Mac can share; and the Zimac Proxy, a metered model gateway with budgets enforced on every call.

The offerings

Three products. One system.

Each stands alone. Together they form a complete stack: an app you own, a memory you keep, and inference you can meter.

Zimac macOS app

Talk to one chief of staff. Sage triages every message, summons only the specialists it needs, and answers in a single voice — sharing one memory, one roster of your people, and your writing voice.

  • Native macOS, local-first — nothing leaves your machine
  • Studios for reviews, dashboards, staffing and planning
  • Free for 30 days, then a one-time $49 license

Mnema memory engine

A formally verified local memory store every LLM and agent on your Mac can share — with the Pensieve, a living map of your memory you can watch think. The engine that powers Zimac, free and standalone.

  • HTTP API + MCP server — one memory for every agent
  • Verified engram log: proofs and model-checking in CI
  • Free forever — no account, no network required

Zimac Proxy model gateway

An Anthropic-compatible gateway that swaps the real provider credential in server-side, per request. Every token resolves to an org and a seat; budgets, rate limits and usage are enforced on every call.

  • Per-seat tokens and org-wide budget pools
  • Prepaid credits via Stripe — $20 lands as $20 of budget
  • Live usage, model entitlements, and an ops console

How it fits together

Your Mac does the thinking. Our edge does the metering.

The app and the memory live on your machine; only model calls cross the wire — direct to your provider, or through the proxy with a budget attached.

On your Mac

Zimac runs natively and remembers through Mnema — people, decisions, and context in a verified store on disk. Secrets stay in the macOS Keychain; the local API binds to 127.0.0.1 only.

Through the proxy

The app speaks the Anthropic Messages API to proxy.zimac.ai with a per-seat token. The real provider key is swapped in server-side, per request — nothing usable ever sits on the laptop.

Billing that reconciles

Owners top up prepaid credits or subscribe per seat through Stripe. Payment and spend key the same ledger row, so what finance sees and what the proxy enforces cannot drift apart.

Principles

Built like infrastructure, not like a demo.

Local-first by design

Your memory, notes, and people never leave your machine. There is no account requirement, no telemetry harvest, and no server-side copy of your data — the only thing that crosses the wire is the model call itself.

Verified where it counts

Mnema's engram store ships with a formal verification contract: property tests, a conformance model checker, Kani proofs, and a TLA⁺ model check gate every change in CI. Memory is the foundation — it is held to a higher bar.

Metered honestly

Every proxy call debits an org and a seat against a budget you set — enforced at request time, visible live. Payments run on Stripe; card details never touch Zimac.AI servers, and prepaid means no surprise bill.

Pricing

FAQ

Questions, answered plainly.

Is Zimac a subscription?

No. The Zimac app is a one-time $49 license per computer, after a 30-day free trial. Model usage is separate: bring your own API key, or buy prepaid proxy credits that land as org budget.

Where does my data live?

On your Mac. Zimac and Mnema are local-first: memory, notes, and people live on your machine, secrets sit in the macOS Keychain, and there is no server-side copy of your data. Only model calls leave the device — direct to your provider or through the Zimac proxy.

Do I need an account?

Not to use Zimac or Mnema — bring your own model key and nothing else is required. A free Zimac account adds the proxy: per-seat tokens, org budgets, team invites, and billing from one page.

What is Mnema?

Mnema is a free, formally verified memory engine that runs on your Mac. Every LLM and agent you use can share it over an HTTP API or the Model Context Protocol, and its Pensieve window shows a living map of your memory. It is the same engine that powers Zimac.

How does proxy billing work?

Prepaid and enforced. Pay $20 through Stripe and it lands as $20 of proxy budget across your org, debited on every call per seat and per org pool — no surprise bill, and no card details on Zimac.AI servers.
